NASA-2007-NATIONALS

9-21-07 Well Nationals came and went with a bang!! It was an
experience and I learned a lot. It was our first time at Mid-Ohio track. The
track layout was fairly easy to learn but the line wasn't. There were 5 of us
vying for the title of National champ in TT-D class but only one of us was to
walk away with it. I knew that our GTO street car didn't stand a chance
against class specific prepared cars, but we had to give it our best shot. As
a result of having just a street car, we took last place. We had 2 spins in the
9 sessions we ran. The GTO performed flawlessly, never missing a beat. It
was still fun and we had a blast just being there. Seeing old friends and
making some new ones. Its a time that will be remembered with fondness.
Hats off to our competitor and National Champ Kyle Burkhardt who came
from behind to win it all in the last session of the last day.
